An example of OUTsurance's innovative marketing strategy, and effective brand building, was their funding of the Traffic Free Flow Project (www.trafficfreeflow.co.za) which put 22 fixed pointsmen at high volume traffic intersections in Johannesburg, with 10 mobile pointsmen to alleviate traffic in other congested areas. Fully trained and endorsed by the Metro Police, this branding exercise not only put the OUTsurance brand in full view of commuters, but associated the brand with proactivity- which helped to build a positive brand image.

The “Staff Helping Africa Out” (www.helpingSAout.co.za) initiative is another example of their community orientated brand building, and involved the funding of several community service projects, which were proposed by OUTsurance staff. The funding of these projects lead to publicity campaigns, which consisted of the filming of 8 community service projects for television. These community projects therefore boosted the already positive brand image of OUTsurance, by showcasing their passionate, caring staff.

The latest in OUTsurance sponsorship efforts is the OUTsurance KZN Expedition, which took place in on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of November. An exciting event for hardcore mountain bike enthusiasts and spectators alike, this event created an opportunity for OUTsurance to improve brand recognition and expand on previous Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.
